Prenuptial Agreement

Prenuptial Agreement

According to nationality, different marriages are registered in Thailand. Thai marriages can be formally dissolved through ritual means, a court, or both, with or without a Betrothal Ceremony. The betrothal ceremony consists solely of a promise to wed, expressed as an agreement.

Only when the man presents the lady with engagement property as proof does the arrangement take effect. In the case that the betrothal contract is broken, the harmed party has the right to sue for damages.

Thai Civil and Commercial Code governs Thai Prenuptial Agreements. Before creating a prenuptial agreement with a Thai national fiancée, it’s crucial that you consult with a registered Thai family lawyer, attorney, or solicitor who is knowledgeable about the laws in both your home country and Thailand.
